Our senior leadership draws upon decades of experience in design, development and delivery of intelligent microgrid solutions. IPERC's leadership team is comprised of experts in control systems, cyber security and critical microgrid components including generators, solar power and energy storage.

Erik M. Svanholm

Erik serves as Chief Executive Officer of IPERC. Erik has experience growing entrepreneurial businesses in several industries, and leads operations and administration at IPERC, as well as strategic and financial planning. Prior to joining IPERC, Erik was involved with corporate finance, strategic planning and business intelligence at a fast-growing consumer medical business. Earlier in his career, Erik worked in commercial real estate finance, including serving as Chief Credit Officer and Associate Principal of Western Capital Partners. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Erik works and lives in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Darrell D. Massie, P.E.

Darrell Massie is Founder and Chief Technology Officer of IPERC. Darrell was commissioned as a second lieutenant and served for over 26 years as a commissioned officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers. His final military assignment, where he served for 15 years, was as Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. Following his retirement from military service in 2004, IPERC was born. Darrell has extensive experience in distributed energy technology, neural network modeling and advanced control for energy systems. Darrell has consulted extensively with the DOD Research Laboratories and serves in a variety of positions as one of the Army's primary experts in the areas of power and energy management and strategic planning. Darrell has authored or co-authored over 90 technical papers and reports and holds two US Patents. He and his wife Cheryl share a passion for Army football and basketball, golf and travel.

Dr. Peter S. Curtiss, P.E

Peter is IPERC's Technical Director. Peter has worked with IPERC since its inception as the leader of our development team located in Colorado. Peter has extensive experience in building energy systems, renewable energy technology, neural network modeling, control and simulation of distributed generation systems and environmental and sustainable design. Peter has developed a neural network-based process controller currently used by Honeywell and was the project manager for a team at Architectural Energy Corporation that assisted Honeywell in the design of an Internet-based building monitoring, energy management and systems diagnostic program. Peter serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder and holds two US Patents. When not working on IPERC technologies, Peter can be found hiking or skiing with his sons in the mountains outside Boulder.

Brad T. Luyster

Brad Luyster is the Director of Business Development at IPERC. He has spent the majority of his 30 years in the power and energy industry in various roles from selling electrical products to managing large business units at companies like Siemens and ABB. In particular, he joined Siemens as a salesperson in NE Ohio and was promptly promoted to Business Development Manager for their MV products, then promoted to a role as Business Unit Manager leading their MV Outdoor and OEM Products businesses. Brad was recruited to join ABB, as their VP of Smart Grid and Microgrids Business, where he developed their Smart Grid Center of Excellence and Microgrid Regional Execution Center for North America. His background gives him a unique view of Smart Grid solutions and Microgrid technologies which allow him to see the potential these diverse systems bring to our industry, utilities, and surrounding communities. He has a BS in Marketing from the University of Akron and an MBA from Ashland University.
